Yhon Downie
(Father of LB Tristan Dowie)
We have observed incredible growth in Tristan, on and off the field since he has joined MVP.
His skills have improved along with his confidence and competitive drive. The experience and knowledge of the coaches has helped him tap into his strengths, while growing and improving in other areas. His passion for the game has increased and he has developed a strong internal drive to keep elevating his game.
Our experience with MVP has been great! The coaching staff is very organized. They communicate expectations, timelines and plans clearly and respond well to feedback.
You will not regret joining MVP. MVP offers an environment where players benefit from a robust program supported by knowledgable coaches. They will be surrounded by some of the best players at their level, which will push them to thrive in the sport. Your child will not only become a better athlete, but they will also build relationships with teammates and be afforded many opportunities to network with peers and elite coaches in Canada and the US.
Randy & Collete Simpson
(Parents of LB Dylan Simpson)
Dylan received great development with MVP. He was a wide receiver when he came to the program, but Coach Phil thought he would be better as a LB and converted Dylan to a Linebacker. He was taught the skills and fundamentals of the position with MVP and began to play LB in tackle football after.
Through MVP, Dylan was connected with the Head Coach of Clearwater Academy in Florida and coach Phil helped him get there where he finished his last 2 years of high school. MVP helped Dylan with his recruiting and exposure by sending his film to coaches and connecting him with coaches to help build relationships. Dylan ended up earning himself a D1 scholarship to Long Island University, in New York after high school. Dylan has now transferred to the University of Windsor and will finish his last 2 years there.
As a parent, Coach Phil was very knowledgeable and helped us with Dylan’s football journey. I recommend parents to give MVP a shot because their program and what they do for the kids truly amazing.
Sam Folino
(Father of QB Salvatore Folino)
Salvatore’s experience with MVP at a young age was something special and he will always remember. Learning from coaches and playing with like-minded young athletes really gave him a sense of belonging. Learning responsibility, respect at another level at MVP. I have seen my son grow not only at the position playing QB but also turning into an adult with great maturity. It has given hm confidence to keep moving forward and not giving up.
As a parent I could not be prouder to have been an active part of my sons Journey. MVP staff and coaches really care about the developing of the kids and assist them in the direction they need. I was amazed on how committed and invested the coaches were for Salvatore. I wish to thank them for choosing Salvatore for being part of this organization and Happy 10-year anniversary !
To parents who can choose MVP for their kids developing is a game changer on how your kids will grow into adults. Learning form Honest Coaches and staff on how to navigate through the process to the next level. The best is after their time at MVP they will have made friends and Mentors to reach out to for guidance.
Marcello Lio
(Father of QB Anthony Lio)
By being a part of the MVP Program Anthony gained confidence, enhanced his ability to read and understand multiple defenses due to structured practice plans and teaching coupled with follow up Zoom feedback sessions.
MVP was also a very positive parent experience. Clear communication and transparency about expectations, role of each player on the team and schedule of events.
As a football coach of players that have been members of the MVP program I found they developed a great sense of urgency, a high compete level, and leadership.
MVP Football Academy brings tremendous value to the broader football community by creating a high-performance environment where athletes are developed both on and off the field. They prioritize technical skill, football IQ, physical conditioning, and character - building complete athletes who are not only ready to compete at the next level, but also to lead.
Beyond player development, MVP fosters a sense of community, mentorship, and opportunity by also involving alumni in their programming. They help connect young athletes with coaches, scouts, and programs across the country, opening doors for recruitment. They are all about the kids!
My son started with the program as a 15U player in the Fall of 2023 and most recently a 18U player in 2024. As a parent, watching my son grow through MVP Football Academy has been an extremely rewarding experience. From the moment he joined, it was clear that this wasn’t just another sports program—it was a place where young athletes are truly developed, both on and off the field.
The player development at MVP is second to none. My son has not only improved his technical skills and football IQ, but he has also gained a deeper understanding of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. The structured training, personalized feedback, and high-level competition have pushed him to reach new heights in the game.
What truly sets MVP apart is the amazing coaching staff. The coaches are mentors, role models, and motivators. They bring out the best in every player with their passion, expertise, and unwavering belief in each athlete’s potential. Their commitment to excellence and character-building is something we deeply appreciate.
Beyond the game, MVP has given my son irreplaceable life experiences. From traveling to tournaments, building lifelong friendships, and learning how to lead with integrity, he’s gained memories and lessons that will stay with him forever. The confidence and maturity he has developed through this program are evident in his life, as Coach Nick would say “it’s all about decision making and choices.”
We are incredibly grateful to MVP Football Academy for shaping our son into not just a better athlete, but a better person. This program is a true game-changer.
Brad Kowtiuk
(Father of WR Brodie Kowtiuk)
Our MVP journey began for our son Brodie when we replied to a chance Facebook message asking if we would be interested in having him join their team in a road trip to Tennessee. Brodie was in Grade 8 at the time and as parents we knew little about 7v7 let alone MVP Football Academy and were unsure. After some back and forth conversations with Coach Phil and more research, we took the leap! And are we ever glad we did!
Growing up playing local football in the Windsor area Brodie dominated with his teams and won just about everything you could! With that said, the exposure to US football, older kids and a much higher level of talent was a real check to push him to achieve more from himself.
MVP pushes your child to get better every play and focus on the skills required. They learn to not just focus on the wins but rather learn to be a better player especially in the face of adversity! Having players from all over taught Brodie to become a stronger team player by taking every practice and tournaments to bond more quickly with his peers and coaches.
Then there was the countless opportunities MVP provides to attend camps and visits with many NCAA schools! This taught our son the skills needed to meet with University coaches, how to conduct himself in front of schools and what to expect when going after his goals.
The relationships the coaches with MVP have allowed Brodie to continue playing football during COVID when local sports were being shut down.
Brodie attended Clearwater Academy International Florida for two years. During this time, he was able to receive his high school diploma there and was part of that State Championship winning team as well. With teammates from around the world, Brodie had many life lessons such as cultural customs, foods, and friendships he will never forget. Currently Brodie is continuing his dream and playing for the University of Windsor on scholarships.
As a parent although we were initially apprehensive of sending our young son off all over the United States, that fear quickly went away. Coach Phil and Sean were in constant contact with us and made us feel as if we were part of a family. The biggest compliment I can give the coaches is that you will quickly realize they have nothing but the best interest of their players in mind before anything else. They will always be honest and straightforward to help parents understand the recruiting process and opportunities parents should (or should not) do to assist their child in the process. Even though it has been years since our son played 7v7 with MVP, we have remained friends with Coach Phil and follow the team year after year.
For any parents who may have the opportunity for their child to join the team, don’t hesitate. The skills, the experiences and overall life lessons your child will receive are priceless. The coaches are always there for you as a parent to answer any questions and will put your child in a place to better themselves always. Even as parents we have cherished the friendships we have made with other parents, players, and coaches from around the world all thanks to our extended MVP football family!!
